    An 8,000-piece collection of furnishings, documents, personal artifacts and art from Colonial America, the Revolution and the Early Republic, with about 400 objects on view.

    • The Long Room. A re-created 18th-century public dining room, where Washington said farewell to his officers in December 1783.
    • Period rooms. A private dining room and a guest bedchamber show how the colonial tavern served and lodged its guests.
    • Governing the Nation from Fraunces Tavern. Depicts the Department of Foreign Affairs, one of three government offices housed here in 1785–88.

    • Wavertree. An 1885 cargo sailing ship at Pier 16, restored with its crew quarters, galley, saloon and cargo hold open to visitors.
    • Lightship Ambrose. The 1908 lightship that guarded the Ambrose Channel, seen on guided tours.
    • Bowne & Co., Stationers. A 19th-century-style letterpress shop using the museum's working collection of historic presses and type.

    • General Assembly Hall and Security Council Chamber. Seen on guided tours when no meetings are under way.
    • Gifted art. Works by artists including Marc Chagall, Candido Portinari, Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.
    • Ark of Return. A permanent memorial to the victims of slavery on the visitors plaza.
    • North Lawn. Gardens with roses, cherry trees, a piece of the Berlin Wall and the George and the Dragon statue; garden tours May–August.

    • Aircraft carrier Intrepid. Commissioned in 1943, it survived kamikaze attacks and a torpedo, and later recovered NASA astronauts.

      TABO: Into the Light

      Peter van Ham's large photographs recreate, at full scale on the gallery walls, the 11th-century mandala temple of Tabo Monastery in India's Spiti Valley.

    Tibet House holds a Repatriation Collection, begun in 1992, of more than 1,000 donated Tibetan paintings, sculptures, ritual objects and artifacts from the 13th to 20th centuries, kept in trust for a future national museum in a free Tibet.

    • Repatriation Collection. Thangkas, bronzes, ritual objects and folk art given by collectors.
    • Library. Books, manuscripts and media on Tibetan Buddhism, medicine, history and arts, open to visitors.

    A working Episcopal parish at Broadway and Wall Street, founded in 1697, whose 1846 Neo-Gothic church is a National Historic Landmark; its churchyard holds the graves of Alexander and Eliza Hamilton.

    The third church on the site, designed by Richard Upjohn and consecrated in 1846, with a 281-foot steeple, plus a churchyard used for burials since about the 1660s.

    • Hamilton graves. Resting places of Alexander and Eliza Hamilton and of Angelica Schuyler Church.
    • Soldiers' Monument. Honors Revolutionary War soldiers held captive in the city and thought to be buried at Trinity.
    • Oldest gravestone. Marks five-year-old Richard Churcher, who died in 1681, in the northeast of the churchyard.
    • AR tours. Augmented reality tours of the church's art, architecture and notable people.
